Burley

Burley is a little forest that is in the New Forest. We spend either a morning or afternoon there every year. Burley was (apparently) famous for witches and smugglers. The village consists of some little gift shops, a couple of pubs, a cider farm and obviously some residents. The best thing about Burley is the wild horses/ponies that roam around the village, its makes the village unique and slightly more beautiful.

Mudeford

As mentioned in my previous post we go crabbing at Mudeford every year. So this year I thought it would be a kind of good idea to try a document someone crabbing. It was meant to start with someone setting up the crabbing lines and the bucket and net. The person bringing up the line with a couple of crabs attached to them and the crabs being put into the bucket. And the final image would be of the crabs being released back unto the water. These photos didn't go to plan because I kept shaking because it was cold, I couldn't get a descent angle for the images and I just don't think that I had the right equipment. Here are the images that I managed to take capture, I will just have to try harder next year and then if that still doesn't work I will have to plan a shoot.

Also at Mudeford it has some bait shop and in front of them it is full of these lobster and crab cages which looks quite pretty but strange, I can't really find of any words to describe it but here a few photos that I have taken of them.

Bournemouth and the surronding areas

Here is a collection from our annul holiday Bournemouth. This holiday has been the same for the last 3/4 years. By "the same" I mean the same week, month, places and people. I apologise because I do not know the names of the places that are featured in this collection or if these places are actually apart of Bournemouth or not, so I am sorry it is due to a lack of research and geography knowledge on my part.
The first part of this collection is actually of a new place that in the 3/4 years of this holiday we have never been to. It was quite a nice places with lovely views but I don't think that there is a lot do unless you own a boat or yacht.

The other place in the collection is new too. Every year we go crabbing in Mudeford (which will be a separate blog later on) and when you are crabbing you can see place a little bit into the water with all these beach huts on them.

York

I didn't get that many images at York. I arrived in York at 4pm on Friday 24th October but by the we had a little wonder around and had some dinner it was time to go the hotel, and we did spend a little bit of time in York on Saturday but didn't get that many photos because York seems to be consistently busy.
I do like York and I would definitely go back there and probably live there after one days visit. However, one day is not enough to explore such a lovely city. I did find York quite confusing to get around, and it seemed that you will always walk down the same streets but you would 5 other streets so you would probably miss the shortcuts and the places that you want to go. But I might probably think this because it was a new place and I didn't get chance to see most of it.

The Image was taken on the bridge around the corner from Clifford's Tower.

York minster is such a impressive piece of architecture (I don't think that my photos did it any favours). The photos were taken the Friday night that we was in York, the next day we went back to York minster because my nan wanted to see it in the daylight and she wanted to inside as well. We didn't go inside York minster in the end because there was quite a long queue (we was on a time limit so to say)  and we thought that we had to pay get into York minster when they normally ask for donations inside. I don't think that cathedrals should charge people to go into building, I know that they are old buildings and that money is needed to help preserve the building and to keep it going but people will always give to cathedrals, when we went to the St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh there was donation boxes around and there was quite a lot of money in them and you had to donate £2 to take photos plus a little gift shop section. Mentioning gift shops we did go into the York minster gift shop, I would like to apologise for the rubbish story that I am going to tell you now but it does make me chuckle.  All day in York I was looking for a lighter that said York on it (because I am weird and collect lighters, pens and pencils but they all will be used so not a complete waste of time and money) but we couldn't find one anywhere. Whilst in the York minster gift shop my mother turned to me and said "you might get a York lighter in here" and I think my response was "so condemn the smokers but ere have a light". Anyways here are my photo of York Minster.

I like to that sub-consciously that I didn't take that many photos and the quality of them is rubbish because I want to go back in the near future to do some more exploring, and while I'm up that way to go and see the angel of the North. I did see the Angel of the North but it was like, there it is, and a minute later, there it goes. So to summarise, No photos/rubbish photos = a reason to go back up North.

Edinburgh Continued

This post includes the images of the city taken from Edinburgh Castle. Sorry that they are not with the last post but the layout for pictures on this blog is really limited so I do apologise for the messy layouts but you should only have to endure until the end of the holiday posts so that would be Burley, another 3 more posts like this.

Edinburgh, Scotland

All the photos of Edinburgh was taken from Edinburgh Castle.

The first I went to Edinburgh was in 2011 during the comedy festival and I fell in love with Edinburgh, I took 3 years but I finally managed to go back there. My favourite place in Edinburgh is the Royal Mile, it is full of rich history and architecture.
I do want to explore the rest of Scotland but it is just finding the money and the time off work. As I will like to go everywhere in Scotland the main place that I would like to go to first is Glasgow, the Highlands and Loch Ness.
Sorry that I haven't written that much about Edinburgh but the place is my favourite place on earth and I don't want to bore you, the readers. Just a reminder that these images may look like snapshot or tourist photos.

Blackpool Lighs

The Blackpool lights are (apparently) the same every year but they add a couple of new ones and change the order of them. The lights are (obviously) down at the front (seafront) where all of the tourist, hotels and attractions are.
There are people that drive to see the lights which causes a lot of traffic (which I imagine the locals love) and there are people that use the tram to see the lights. Either way if you are there to see the light for a photographic purpose (taking photos of the lights) then these 2 factors does not help. You can not take a picture of the lights that hang off the lamp posts and brightens up the seafront street of Blackpool because you are unable to get every angle unless you stand in the middle of the street and get in everyone way and the car headlight spoil the picture I find. As for the main light displays (the ones photographed below) then you are standing behind a wooden fence behind the tram track and you have to make sure that no trams are coming to ruin the shot.
Just a reminder that these images may look like snapshots or tourist photos. Enjoy.

Also, there are 3 trams going around at night that are designed and light up as boats and trains. I think that someone told me that there are 2 boat trams, but I only seemed to see one. And there is 1 train tram which took me all night to capture because of timing really.
