The Blackpool lights are (apparently) the same every year but they add a couple of new ones and change the order of them. The lights are (obviously) down at the front (seafront) where all of the tourist, hotels and attractions are.
There are people that drive to see the lights which causes a lot of traffic (which I imagine the locals love) and there are people that use the tram to see the lights. Either way if you are there to see the light for a photographic purpose (taking photos of the lights) then these 2 factors does not help. You can not take a picture of the lights that hang off the lamp posts and brightens up the seafront street of Blackpool because you are unable to get every angle unless you stand in the middle of the street and get in everyone way and the car headlight spoil the picture I find. As for the main light displays (the ones photographed below) then you are standing behind a wooden fence behind the tram track and you have to make sure that no trams are coming to ruin the shot.
Just a reminder that these images may look like snapshots or tourist photos. Enjoy.
Also, there are 3 trams going around at night that are designed and light up as boats and trains. I think that someone told me that there are 2 boat trams, but I only seemed to see one. And there is 1 train tram which took me all night to capture because of timing really.
